B.C. drag clown Jimbo crowned winner of RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars

Victoria-based drag performer Jimbo has been named the winner of the eighth season of the hit reality show RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars.

The drag clown won the coveted spot in the Drag Racing Hall of Fame and $200,000.

“Look Mama, you did it!” she yelled onstage when the win was announced.

“The third time is really charming,” she added.

This was Jimbo’s third appearance on a drag racing show.She made her first appearance in her first season of canadian drag racing In 2020, he finished fourth. After that, Jimbo said, uk vs worldlanding in 7th place.

She finally emerged victorious on the show’s All-Stars, where fan favorites from previous seasons competed.

Over the course of the season, Jimbo won 4 of the 10 challenge episodes and 1 for “Lip Sync for Your Legacy”.

Jimbo is the first international queen and the first Canadian to win a season of a US-based show.

“This win proves that with enough drive and determination and love and support, anything is possible,” she said in a video posted to RuPaul’s Drag Racing YouTube channel on Sunday.

“This is a lifelong dream for me that I could never have predicted and I am very grateful for,” continued Jimbo.

In an Instagram video, the drag performer thanked family, friends and “everyone who believed in me and supported me.”

And Jimbo wrote in his social media post that he dedicated his victory to “all the freaks and free spirits.”

Jimbo, known as James Insel out of drag, hails from London, Ontario and moved to Victoria after college to become a costume and production designer in the city.

On Saturday, Jimbo announced a 56-city North American solo tour, “Jimbo’s Drug Circus,” in 2024.
