Former ‘Bachelorette’ Hannah Brown is appearing on Maria Menounos‘ podcast, Heal Squad, today, May 6, and in an exclusive sneak peek clip from PEOPLE, Brown revealed she has a very rare health condition that left her totally shocked.
As she explained to Menounos, “I have a double uterus, and I had never been told that.” Menounos then asked her what, exactly, a double uterus is, and Brown replied, “I haven’t done the exploratory surgery to figure out exactly what’s going on because there’s some risk in whatever may be there when I’m ready to have children. It looks like they’re attached in some way… so it’s just like, almost split.”
She continued, “They’re just gonna have to figure out if one is bigger than the other… can it hold a baby… which one’s better? It’s a whole thing.”

Brown also admitted that the diagnosis caught her off guard, saying, “It was definitely a shock… But to have the knowledge of ‘Hey, this is something that you’re going to want to take care of when you’re ready for that time’ was helpful.”
For the time being, Brown is focusing on her upcoming wedding to fiance Adam Woolard, and she’ll conquer whether or not the condition will affect her ability to have children when that time comes. She admitted, “It can complicate things… But there have been cases of people having double uteruses and having babies, and it being perfectly fine.”
Based on how calm, cool, and collected she was during the interview with Menounos, it’s clear that Brown is taking things one day at a time when it comes to the diagnosis, which is such a positive approach.
In addition to her upcoming wedding, Brown joined the cast of Bachelor in Paradise as a new bartender, so we’ll see her in Costa Rica this summer.
