  • Barcelona’s hotel industry recorded its highest-ever March average daily rate (ADR), with high occupancy levels driven by the Mobile World Congress.
  • The event led to the second-highest individual daily rate ever recorded in the market, contributing to an overall increase in hotel revenue per available room (RevPAR).

CoStar reports that Barcelona’s hotel industry enjoyed a record-breaking month in March 2025, with the highest-ever average daily rate (ADR) for that month. This surge in room rates was primarily driven by the Mobile World Congress, which took place from March 3-6 at the Fira de Barcelona convention center. The event generated the second-highest individual market rate in the history of Barcelona’s hotel industry, with only February 24, 2020, recording a higher ADR.

Key performance metrics for the month showed significant gains, with occupancy reaching 77.3% (a 2.2% increase), ADR at EUR197.09 (a 27.7% increase), and revenue per available room (RevPAR) at EUR152.42 (a 30.5% increase).

The Mobile World Congress helped Barcelona reach its highest occupancy level since October 2024, pushing RevPAR to an all-time daily high.

Occupancy remained above 70% for almost the entire month, demonstrating the robust health of Barcelona’s hotel industry.
