Gifting someone a box of chocolates for Valentine’s Day is a time-honored tradition, but what if that person prefers pasta over candy?
Barilla has a solution for that with its new limited-edition shape.

The love-themed pasta is, unsurprisingly, heart-shaped, and fans were excited by concept.
One Instagram user went as far as to stock up on 25 boxes of the pasta, sharing a video of a shopping cart full of Barrilla and stating in the caption, “I plan to try out different pasta Recipes and serve my adult kids meals.”

Over on Barilla’s official Instagram account, fans were delighted by the news as well, commenting, “Omg the hearts are so cute 😍” and “These are adorable 🥹.”

In a statement to Parade, Barilla said “Inspired by the sauce capturing Mezza Rigatoni shape and crafted with the same ingredients fans know and love, Barilla Love heart-shaped pasta was designed to capture the beautiful elements of the special day: love and connection.”
If you’d like to try the pasta but don’t want to make it yourself, the pasta will be “served across Nordstrom Restaurant Group locations during the month of February, where several pasta recipes will feature Barilla Love,” according to the brand.
This isn’t the first time Barilla has gotten in the festive mood—in late 2024, the brand rolled out snowflake-shaped pasta in response to a survey that found that fans wanted more seasonal pasta shapes.
Just like the heart-shaped pasta, the snowflake-shaped pasta boxes had a special detail on them: a gift tag on the side to allow fans to give each other the fun food as a present.
