Batman, Green Arrow, and the Question unite in new DC Comics Black Label series

5 August 20252 Mins Read

You’ve read countless stories about Batman battling the Joker on the streets of Gotham, but what about Batman taking on billionaires on an ocean-faring utopian city? Alongside other DC vigilantes, that’s exactly what he’ll do when Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia begins, with the first issue releasing on November 26.

This Black Label (DC Comics’ imprint for darker and more mature stories) four-issue miniseries follows the heroes, updated “for a new era of open class warfare and ecological collapse,” in a noir detective thriller, according to a news release. Bruce Wayne investigates the “climate-hardened” city of Arcadia while Green Arrow and the Question uncover the secrets buried beneath the city to try to figure out what’s really going on.

Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia is written and drawn by Gabriel Hardman, known for his work on the top-notch Green Lantern: Earth One graphic novels and the Hugo-nominated Invisible Republic from Image. “While I’m taking inspiration from the great work of Denny O’Neil, Denys Cowan, and Mike Grell, this series isn’t an exercise in nostalgia,” Hardman said. “I’m taking the grounded approach they spearheaded in the late 80s and moving forward, having these three difficult, opinionated personalities confront a contemporary brand of criminality on a global scale.”

Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia will publish monthly before a collected hardcover edition arrives in June 2026 (sorry, trade waiters, but we’re gonna be waiting a while). Its first issue features a variant cover from Denys Cowan and Bill Sienkiewicz that was originally a poster advertising a crossover between the three vigilantes in the 80s. You can check out the variant cover, Hardman’s main cover for issue #1, and unlettered preview pages below.

The first issue of Batman/Green Arrow/The Question: Arcadia will be available starting on Nov. 26, 2025.
