First-person maps and islands were introduced into Fortnite in December 2024, and they provide a fresh take on what first-person Fortnite has to offer.

After you search for first-person maps in the discovery page, you’ll be hit with a lot of gun game variants — but there is more to the perspective than just the fun party mode and Epic’s own Ballistic made. There are a lot of maps that change Fortnite from its tried-and-tested Battle Royale format and twist it into something that was once not imaginable.

Here are some of the best first-person Fortnite maps we recommend you try next.

Best Fortnite first-person maps

Here’s some recommendations for first-person maps upon the perspective’s debut in Fortnite:

First Person OG Tilted (1489-6973-6659)

Duke it out in Tilted Towers before it returns to Fortnite OG Season 2, where you can choose between six loadouts and eliminate other players in this free-for-all mode. The verticality of Tilted Towers makes matches action-packed as you must scan high and low to take out your opponents. The mode does have visible name plates making it easier to spot your enemies, but it does not take away from the fun.

First Person Gun Game – Nuketown (7201-9558-1398)

There are a ton of different gun games in the first-person section of Fortnite, but if I had to pick one to play it would be this one. This gun game takes place on one of the most iconic shooter maps — Nuketown from Call of Duty Black Ops.

The 12 max player count is perfect for the smaller-sized map as you almost have no time to think and always in the heat of battle. The 40 elimination count also provides you some incentive to win as some other gun game modes can go on infinitely, and the winner can call in their very own nuke.

Conscripted: D-Day Operations (FPS) (3957-1557-1728)

I was very surprised on my first load in when I spawned in the trenches and immediately encountered two Solid Snakes trying to take me down, but that is what Fortnite Creative is all about, right? This map is worth checking out just for the environmental work alone, as it’s something you’ve likely never seen before in Fortnite, while the action itself has you advancing through bunkers and trenches on a 20v20 map.

First Person – Onlyup (1871-5720-2539)

This frustrating and rage-inducing platformer now has a first-person twist, with the aim to reach the top of this extremely difficult take on Only Up! by climbing familiar items and buildings. Not every first-person map has to be a shooter, and this map justifies that, and the first-person viewpoint provides another challenge in that you’re not able to see all of your surroundings or the relation of your character and the environment.

Intrusion [Horror] (3191-3246-7843)

The map’s title might have given it away, but Intrusion is a scary adventure map. Inspired by Fears to Fathom, Intrusion places you in a home all alone and soon find yourself in trouble as a stranger breaks into your house. Make the right decisions to survive the night and escape their grasp.

Fortnite’s newest addition to its growing list of game modes deserves its recognition. Ballistic is a 5v5 round-based mode that plays similarly to other tactical FPS games like Counter-Strike and Valorant. Although it’s currently in early access, it offers adrenaline-inducing and, sometimes, anxiety-inducing game play. It’s definitely a change of pace from your usual gameplay, but it’s a welcome change as Fortnite continues to grow into an amalgamation of games.
