Beyond the Gates star Colby Natasha Muhammad has taken to social media to share some behind-the-scenes scoop from the filming of the latest aired episode of the popular CBS soap opera.
On the show, Muhammad’s character Kat broke into her biological half-sister Eva’s hotel room, searching for evidence linking Eva to the car wreck that injured her mom’s assistant, Laura. But just as Kat was searching for evidence, Eva unexpectedly returned to the hotel room with her boyfriend, Tomas. To avoid being caught Kat found herself hiding underneath the hotel room bed to avoid being caught while they moved around the room.
Muhammad took to Instagram to share some behind the scenes moments on Instagram captioning the post, “Behind the scenes of today’s episode! Days like this make my job interesting. 😂🤭 swipe to the end to see this fool cuttin up while I’m tryna be serious! 🙄😂😂😂”
Fans went to the comments to share, “Aww Kat hearing Tomas is loyal to her. 🥰 Really he had no business going into Eva’s hotel room and should have just said he doesn’t feel that’s appropriate. This episode was so good! I was like come on Kat, don’t get caught! I’m so curious to see what happens next! It sucks that Eva had taken the helmet though because from what I understand she had nothing to do with Leslie hurting Laura. Just like Kat, she suspected her of the crime. So, I’m wondering how much trouble she’s gonna be in now.”
Mohammed was asked, “Real talk: how long were you under that bed for? 😂” to which she responded, “Mmm, that is a good question. Probably on and off for about 45 min?”
CBS officially describes Beyond the Gates as a soap opera that is “set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C., in one the most affluent African American counties in the United States; a posh gated community with winding tree-lined streets and luxurious mansions to call home. At the center of this community are the Duprees, a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty. But behind these pristine walls and lush, manicured gardens are juicy secrets and scandals waiting to be uncovered. And those who live outside these gates are watching closely. These are the places where our characters live, love, work and play. Those who have “made it” and those who haven’t are all trying to navigate life … and some with more grace than others.“
Beyond The Gates is developed and produced by CBS Studios and the NAACP in partnership with P&G Studios a division of Procter and Gamble. The series is the groundbreaking first hour-long black soap opera to premiere in daytime. The creation is the brainchild of award-winning showrunner Michele Val Jean, in association with executive producer Sheila Ducksworth, and is the first new soap opera to premiere since NBC debuted Passions back in 1999.
Beyond The Gates airs weekdays at 2 p.m. EST on CBS and streamed daily on Paramount Plus.
