Blue Jays fall 9-5 to Yankees in pre-season action

Dunedin, Fla. — Andres Chaparro hit a home run and had two RBIs on Sunday as the New York Yankees handed the Toronto Blue Jays their first preseason loss of 9-5.
Brandon Lockridge and Jesus Bastidas also drove in two runs each for New York.

Starting pitcher Johnny Britto stole two batters and allowed three hits in two innings.
LJ Talley hit a three-run homer and Vladimir Guerrero, Jr. added a two-run blast for Toronto, scoring all five runs in the fifth inning. Starter Tim Maza pitched just one inning, giving up three hits and one run.
The Blue Jays kicked off the preseason with a 9-7 victory over the Pittsburgh Pirates on Saturday.
Toronto will face the Atlanta Braves next Monday afternoon.
