Blue Jays sign first-round draft pick Nimmala

TORONTO – Shortstop Arjun Nimala has signed with the Toronto Blue Jays.
The 17-year-old prospect was drafted 20th overall in this year’s Major League Baseball Draft.
Nimala has played the last four seasons at Strawberry Crest High School in Dover, Florida.

The 6-foot-1, 170-pound Tampa native finished the 2023 season with 35 hits and 29 RBIs in 25 games.
382 with 22 doubles, 3 triples and 9 homers in 77 games at the high school level.
He is the highest-drafted Indian-American player in any of the four major North American sports. No Indian-American has played in an MLB game.
