Bob W has signed a long-term lease for 54 Stadiou Street, a former office building in Athens, marking another step in its European expansion. The company plans to convert the property into premium serviced apartments, enhancing its portfolio and strengthening its expansion across Europe.
Bob W has officially signed a long-term lease agreement with developer-landlord Blend Development for the property at 54 Stadiou Street in Athens. This historic city centre location is near several major landmarks and transport links, making it an ideal choice for Bob W’s expansion.
Known for successfully repurposing commercial assets into high-quality accommodations, Bob W plans to convert the former office building into premium serviced apartments. This will not only offer customers a blend of tech-driven convenience but also sustainable design and a hyper-local guest experience.
This property, named Bob W Stadiou, will be the company’s third offering in Athens, joining the existing Bob W Akadimia and Bob W Eolou. With the addition of this lease agreement, Bob W’s European expansion is further strengthened, bringing its total number of units to over 5,000 across the continent.
The conversion works have already commenced, and the apartments are set to open to guests this winter. The refurbishment will enhance the building’s energy efficiency through modern insulation, energy-saving lighting, and water-efficient features, all powered by 100% renewable electricity.
Bob W recently launched its latest sustainability report and the Lodging Emissions & Guest-night Impact Tracker (LEGIT). Developed in collaboration with environmental consultancy Furthr, this new carbon measurement tool provides operators and guests with detailed environmental impact metrics for each room type.
The company’s CEO, Niko Karstikko, stated that with each new property added to Bob W’s rapidly expanding portfolio, the company is proving the efficiency and elevated guest experience that tech-powered hospitality can deliver without compromising on exceptional design or environmental responsibility. In addition, repurposing urban spaces into high-quality, design-led accommodations aligns with the company’s sustainability efforts, reducing CO2 emissions by 50–75%.
Bob W’s expansion strategy includes Athens and Greece as a long-term viable market at the core of its Mediterranean strategy. Paris D. Kallitsantsis, managing director at Blend Development, expressed delight at the partnership with Bob W, which will further contribute to the regeneration of Stadiou Street and the Athens city center.
The operator’s marketplace connects guests to local amenities, while its robust customer service and seamless digital front desk ensure a truly local experience. As part of its growth strategy, Bob W actively seeks to sign additional lease and management agreements across Europe.
