Booking.com has outlined nine key trends predicted to shape travel in 2025, following a research study commissioned among 27,000 travelers across 33 countries. The study revealed that travelers increasingly seek unique experiences that break away from traditional norms, leading to new forms of engagement with the world around them.

Noctourism: With the advancement of space tourism, travelers are increasingly interested in astro-pursuits. 62% are considering visiting darker sky destinations for unique experiences like star bathing and constellation tracking, often driven by concerns about climate change and the desire to avoid crowded daytime locations.

2. Passport to Immortality: Travellers increasingly prioritize wellness and healthy lifestyle choices. 60% expressed interest in longevity retreats, focusing on long-term health improvements rather than temporary fixes.

3. AI = Alternative Itineraries: The use of AI technology to make informed decisions and find authentic experiences is set to increase in 2025. 41% of travelers showed interest in using AI to curate their trips.

4. Multigen Megatrips: 46% of travelers would rather spend money on a trip of a lifetime than leave an inheritance to their children, indicating a trend towards multi-generational trips.

5. Boyz II Zen: Men-only vacations focusing on well-being, self-development, and vulnerability are expected to rise, with nearly half of the respondents supporting the idea.

6. Ageless Adventures: Baby boomers are defying conventional expectations in favor of adventure, with 23% interested in adventure vacations, up from 10% in 2024.

7. Neuroinclusive Navigation: Neurodivergent travelers seek more inclusive travel experiences that cater to their specific needs. AI tools that provide up-to-date information and suggestions for quieter spaces are in demand.

8. Vintage Voyaging: Thrift shopping and sustainable fashion choices are becoming increasingly popular among travelers, with 51% interested in buying their vacation wardrobes during their trip.

9. The Gate Escape: 34% expressed interest in visiting a location because of its airport, unique airport experiences, and facilities, which are expected to contribute to the choice of travel destinations in 2025.
