There’s a brand-new food festival coming to Toronto this weekend that will feature drool-worthy dishes from more than a dozen different countries.

For many, Toronto’s cultural diversity is one of the best parts about living in the city — particularly when it makes our culinary landscape so darn delectable — and Tastes of Home, the newest food festival to hit Evergreen Brick Works, is celebrating exactly that.

Boasting food vendors reflecting the cuisine of 17 different countries and regions, from right here in Canada all the way to Uzbekistan, you’ll get the chance to explore the flavours that make up Toronto’s food scene.

Toronto eateries such as The Carbon Bar, representing the United States with their pulled pork sandwich, Stush Patty, serving up steaming Jamaican patties, and WuBaEats, offering Caribbean-Asian fusion eats such as Jerk Chicken bao, will all be present for you to try.

On top of all that, you’ll be able to sink your teeth into dishes like Tibetan momo, Salvadorian pupusas, Japanese onigiri, Sri Lankan savoury rolls and Serbian schnitzel, to name just a few.

Over the course of the festival, you’ll also be able to jam out to live DJ sets from local performers DJ Me Time and DJ Sonic Griot, shop vendor goods at Evergreen’s mini-market and attend a wine pairing workshop where you can learn how to pair various global cuisines with a selection of wines.

While the festival is open to the public and free to attend, some activities, like the wine pairing workshop, come at an extra cost and require pre-registration. For more details, visit Evergreen’s website.

The inaugural Tastes of Home Festival runs from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 29 across the entire Evergreen Brick Works property.
