“They’ve brought us plenty of great conversations, laughs and unforgettable moments, and we’re grateful for everything they’ve shared with all of us,” said Brown. “We wish them the very best with what comes next. But we know that change is never easy.”

Seixeiro and Shaw’s final broadcast was on Friday, Feb. 7. The former hosts confirmed they had left the program on their personal social media accounts, with neither sharing a specific reason for the split.

“We’re invested in Breakfast Television’s success and leadership in Canadian morning television, and we’ll announce exciting new plans in the coming weeks,” Rogers Sports & Media said in a statement. “As part of this evolution, we have parted ways with Sid Seixeiro and Meredith Shaw. We thank them for sharing their passion and energy with audiences every morning and wish them both the very best.”

Seixeiro started at Breakfast Television in 2021 after co-hosting Tim & Sid on Sportsnet from its inception in 2011.

“Thanks for letting me into your homes and for being so kind,” he wrote on X. “Also, thank you to Rogers for over 13 years of support. They allowed me incredible freedom on air and I’m grateful.”

“Not gonna lie, this is hard,” wrote Shaw, who joined Breakfast Television in 2023 following stints with Bell Media programs including The Social, The Marilyn Denis Show and eTalk, on Instagram. “Cohosting Breakfast Television has been such an honour and I’m so proud of the television we have made.

“And … to you, BT viewers,” the statement continued, “my gratitude has never been deeper as a new chapter begins for your favourite show.”

Seixeiro and Shaw did not immediately respond to The Globe’s requests for comment.
