Brooke Shields just celebrated a milestone birthday, and looked stunning in a bikini in the vacation photos she shared on social media.

Shields, who turned 60 on Saturday, thanked her followers for the “birthday love,” and wrote that she “woke up today in paradise … and in a new decade of life!”

The model and author celebrates aging in her memoir Brooke Shields Is Not Allowed to Get Old, which came out in January, and advocates for women to embrace their power and agency as they move through the later decades of their lives.

Over the years, the mom of two has shared many of her beauty tips with fans, spanning everything from her exercise routine to her skincare regimen (and she even launched a new haircare line for aging hair.)

But one of our favorite recommendations from her skincare routine is the way she uses a beauty product—a little differently than it was intended.

Brooke Shields Uses This Every Day for Beautiful Lips

Shields loves the Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask Ex as part of her morning routine.

“It’s a sleeping mask, but I use it every day,” she told Allure in 2024. Before applying her makeup, she takes the “cute little applicator” and puts a dab on her finger to moisturize her lips.

She applies the product again after putting on her lip liner. “I use it mostly in the center to plump them up a little bit.”

“My lips have gotten thinner as I’ve gotten older,” she said. “I love that some parts of your body get thinner while other parts get bigger,” she joked.

More Ways to Keep Lips Soft and Plump Over 60

Shields may be doubling up on the lip mask, but there are few more ways you can add a little extra plumpness over 60. One major no no? Be aware not to use too many different products on your lips, recommend derms. Another big one is avoiding products with harsh ingredients that could also cause chronically dry lips, board-certified dermatologist and popular dermatology influencer Andrea Suarez, has said. Also be sure not to lick your lips, which can lead to dryness, and use sunscreen on your lips to avoid burning and cracking.

Maureen Kelly, the founder of Tarte Beauty, previously told Parade she recommends a hydrating lip tint as a makeup bag go-to.

“As we get older, we tend to lose some pigment in our lips, and this brings that youthful tint right back without looking overdone. It’s like a lip blushing treatment without the needles. It’s infused with maracuja oil, hyaluronic acid and antioxidant-rich superfruits that help smooth the look of fine lines while leaving the lips with a just-bitten look all day long. The tint glides on effortlessly and gives that juicy stain that doesn’t feather or settle into fine lines.”
