Photographers out and about in Los Angeles, Calif., recently spotted Bruce Willis during one of the actor’s rare outings.
Willis has not been seen in public much since his family announced his frontotemporal dementia diagnosis in early 2023. He retired from acting one year earlier when he was diagnosed with aphasia, a condition in which it becomes difficult for a person to understand language or express themselves using language.

But earlier this week, the Die Hard star was photographed sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle as he was driven through Los Angeles’ Studio City neighborhood. Though he was only visible from the shoulders up, the 69-year-old appeared to be wearing a white and navy striped shirt and a black hat. Photos and one video showing Willis sitting in a black Range Rover were published by The Daily Mail on Saturday, Oct. 19.

Fans most recently saw snapshots of the Pulp Fiction actor in late September when Tallulah, the youngest daughter Willis shares with ex-wife Demi Moore, posted photos that she posed for with her father on Instagram. In her caption, the 30-year-old actress wrote that she loves her dad “so much” and while “feeling feelings is tough stuff,” she felt “so grateful to let them flow through me now instead of disconnecting from it!”
The Sixth Sense actor was also spotted sitting in the passenger seat of a vehicle driving through Brentwood, Calif., in late September wearing what appeared to be an identical shirt to the one seen in the newer snapshots taken this week.
Though Willis doesn’t make many public appearances these days, Moore and their daughters—they also share Rumer, 36, and Scout, 33—are asked often about his health. Moore recently provided an update during a speaking event at the 2024 Hamptons International Film Festival in New York on Oct. 13, describing her ex-husband as “stable” while noting that she feels it is necessary for her and her daughters to embrace a “real deep acceptance” about Willis’ health.
