With filming underway for Season 2 of The Last of Us throughout British Columbia, it’s certainly been an exciting time for fans of the show, who have been waiting for every drop of new info they can get. And Thursday, September 26th marks a special occasion as the official “Outbreak Day” in the series and game franchise, according to HBO. As such, an official Season 2 teaser just dropped to celebrate!

It’s no surprise that the largest series ever filmed in Canada has amassed quite the following over the years, but its dedicated community of fans is what continues to fuel its fire.

Official teaser

Recognized as an annual event in the community (now in its 11th year!), HBO has released an official “The Last of Us Day” teaser and art by Greg Ruth on Thursday, September 26th.

With familiar and new faces, the teaser starts off with guest star Catherine O’Hara asking Joel, “Well, do you want to start or what?”

Queue a montage of emotional moments between Joel and Ellie before O’Hara tells Joel, “You can’t heal something unless you’re brave enough to say it out loud.” And now we’re crying.

Season 2 info

Written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and Neil Druckmann, The Last of Us Season 2 will continue its journey across post-apocalyptic ‘America’ following a global pandemic and ‘zombie’ outbreak.
