Get ready, Vancouver, because for two days this month, the city is transforming for the largest Brazilian cultural festival in Canada, AKA Brazilian Day. On the night of Friday, Aug. 29, 2025, BC Place will light up in green, blue, and yellow to celebrate the opening of the festival, which will bring two days of amazing food and drink, live music, and immersive experiences that will transport visitors straight to Brazil.

The event invites all to take part in the festivities, which include performances by some of the country’s most iconic bands. This consists of an exclusive concert by É o Tchan, one of Brazil’s most notable axé bands, who will perform their beloved hits from the 90s and 2000s.

A mini Carnaval in Vancouver

On Saturday, Aug. 30, visitors can expect over 10 hours of lively programming as well as bands and DJs, who will showcase the best of Brazilian funk, axé, sertanejo, and electronic music, as well as a mini street Carnaval.

For those who don’t know, Carnaval is a massive annual festival in Brazil that consists of vibrant street parties, a stream of parades, and elaborate costumes over days of celebration. While the festival takes place in cities across the country, the most well-known occurs in Rio de Janeiro.

So buckle up, because Vancouver is getting a taste of it all!

Authentic street food

Speaking of flavour, festival-goers can expect to enjoy authentic pastel, coxinha, barbecue, brigadeiro, and much more.

There will also be a cultural museum and a kids’ area to check out on Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025.

Vancouver’s Brazilian Day will take place at the Plaza of Nations Parking Lot next to Science World on Friday, Aug. 29 and Saturday, Aug. 30, 2025.
