Spring has sprung, and it’s about to bring a burst of colour to one of the most vibrant celebrations of the year. Known as the “festival of colours,” Holi is a Hindu tradition marking the arrival of spring with vibrant colours, music, and traditional foods.

“The Hindu Festival of Colour welcomes the beginning of spring and celebrates good overcoming evil, new life and eternal love,” says Premier David Eby. “B.C. is home to a vibrant and welcoming Hindu community, and there are several Holi events throughout the province that are open to all.”

One of them just so happens to be the largest in Canada – and it’s taking place at UBC this weekend.

Featuring headliners TESHER and a host of talented DJs, including DJ HARK, Kokaheena, RAYTRIX, SABZI & Shalv, the festival promises to be bigger and better than ever.

“This year’s Holi promises an unforgettable fusion of music, culture, colour and high energy,” shares event organizers.

In addition to an exciting music lineup, there will be plenty of organic colours to throw into the crowd as you dance with friends old and new, as well as food trucks and festival eats showcasing mouthwatering Indian flavours.
