The Harrison Tulip Festival is a beloved springtime tradition in B.C., and this year looks to be no different! After returning to Agassiz from Chilliwack last year, the vibrant event has grown to become Canada’s largest tulip festival, with 40 dreamy acres to roam this April and May.
How many tulips will bloom?
Visitors will soon wade through a sea of over 12 million radiant tulips (100 different varieties) and double daffodil bulbs (15 varieties), making it one of the most picturesque spots for taking in the spring scenery.
With the stunning Mount Cheam in the background, it’s no surprise that the festival was voted the most “Insta-worthy” of its kind.
At the annual World Tulip Summit in Holland, the Harrison Tulip Fest won the World Tulip Award for Best Instagrammable Tulip Farm.
“The Harrison Tulip Festival provides visitors a one-of-a-kind experience and scenic view, with endless tulip fields against an iconic backdrop of the snowcapped mountains of the Fraser Valley, making it the perfect Instagrammable spot for tulips,” said the World Tulip Society at the award ceremony.
The festival will have plenty of opportunities to capture spring memories and experiences on the farm, which include photo-ops at a windmill, swing sets, antique tractors, horse carts, vintage bikes, a 1950s convertible, a 1965 Airstream trailer, and more.
The expanded and refreshed Farm Store will offer “more tulip-inspired items than ever,” according to organizers, who share examples such as fresh-cut and take-home potted tulips, locally made tulip-themed treats, and items imported from Holland.
Also new this year is a working waterwheel, crafted by local woodworkers, which graces the entrance of a “secret garden” that’s now twice its original size. Here, four acres of vibrant spring blooms await, with mature fruit and nut trees and grassy pathways interspersed.
Those who work up an appetite can enjoy a bite from one of the onsite food trucks at one of several new flower-themed picnic tables.
When will the tulips bloom?
The festival will run for around four weeks, with blooms anticipated throughout. The farm will open daily starting Tuesday, April 15, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday and from 6 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. on weekends, including Good Friday (April 18, 2025).
Tickets are available online for $17 per adult, $15 per senior, and $10 per child (ages three to 12).
