Canada’s hotel industry posted its highest year-over-year occupancy increase since July 2025, with Manitoba, Edmonton, and Vancouver leading key performance metrics in January 2026.
Canada’s hotel industry reported a 3.1% year-over-year increase in occupancy for January 2026, reaching 51.5%, the highest annual gain since July 2025, according to CoStar.
The average daily rate (ADR) rose 4.7% to CAD188.98, and revenue per available room (RevPAR) increased 7.9% to CAD97.35.
Manitoba recorded the largest provincial increases across all three key metrics: occupancy rose 11.9% to 59.6%, ADR increased 9.0% to CAD175.84, and RevPAR climbed 21.9% to CAD104.83.
Among major markets, Edmonton posted the highest gains in ADR, up 7.1% to CAD 152.46, and RevPAR, up 12.6% to CAD 77.36. Vancouver saw the largest increase in occupancy, up 6.9% to 64.5%.
