According to the class action, Canadians who shop Gap and Old Navy online are therefore led to believe that the products they’re purchasing are worth more than their actual value.

“In order for consumers to make informed choices when shopping, it is essential that companies honestly and accurately represent the regular and discount prices of their products to consumers,” said Sam Jaworski, partner at Slater Vecchio LLP, in a statement.

Jaworski says it’s even more important for Gap and Old Navy to be transparent with customers in today’s economy as Canadians grapple with the cost-of-living crisis and inflation.

The law firm seeks compensation for all Canadians who were subject to Gap and Old Navy’s pricing practices.

It’s also seeking an injunction requiring the companies to honestly and accurately represent when they’re offering their products at a discount and when they’re offering them at the regular price.

None of the allegations in the class-action lawsuit have been proven in court.

Slater Vecchio LLP is asking Canadians who have bought products from Gap and Old Navy at a represented “discounted price” to fill out the form here to get updates on the status of the lawsuit.
