Susan Sullivan shared an honest update with her fans on social media this weekend as she announced a new health diagnosis.

The 82-year-old actress, who battled lung cancer less than two years ago, said in a post on X, formerly Twitter, that she is battling lymphoma, a type of blood cancer. She tweeted a photo of herself holding her head in her hand as she sat in a chair inside what appeared to be a medical facility.

“What I struggle with health wise, lung cancer and now lymphoma has deepened my compassion for others. #life,” the Castle alum tweeted in the Sunday, Jan. 19, update accompanying her snapshot. She did not provide any further information regarding when she received her diagnosis.

Fans responded to the news on X by sending the Falcon Crest star virtual hugs and expressing appreciation for her message about finding compassion in the midst of her own health battles.

“I am so sorry that you deal with yet another health challenge, but I am glad to have a way to hear of your ongoing compassion and lovely perspectives,” one fan wrote, adding, “You will be in my prayers from here on.”

“Mrs. Sullivan, sending you big hugs. NEVER GIVE UP,” another fan urged. “You are a sweet and kind person. And may you heal from anything that has been a burden on you.”

“Sending prayers your way. Life has battles and you’re definitely in the throes of yours. Stay strong and may you find greater strength to draw from,” an X user encouraged.

The Another World alum informed her fans back in the fall of 2023 that she had been diagnosed with lung cancer. She underwent what she later described as a “successful” surgery and shared that she had been declared “cancer free” as of Oct. 18, 2023.
