Champagne Delamotte is one of the five oldest Champagne houses. Founded in 1760 by François Delamotte, it is located in the heart of the legendary Côte des Blancs terroir, in the kingdom of the powerful and airy Chardonnay, the preferred grape varietal of the house. For over 260 years, Champagne Delamotte has been perpetuating the tradition started by its founder. They are dedicated to flavor. Champagnes are produced with bold simplicity. Their approach to Champagne is a simple one, based on four cuvées: Brut, Blanc de Blancs, Blanc de Blancs vintage and Rosé.

The location is one of the richest assets of Champagne Delamotte. The chalky soil, the flora and the vines growing on the hillsides give the grapes their exceptional character, delivering delicate, consistent Champagnes.

Known to the wine insiders as the “Baby Salon Champagne,” the shared ownership between Champagne Salon and Champagne Delamotte is an industry secret not well known to those outside of wine circles. The relationship ensures that the wines from Champagne Delamotte are crafted with the same attention to detail, resulting in exceptional Champagne offerings year after year without the rarity and big sticker price of Champagne Salon.

Origin: Le Mesnil-sur-Oger, France
Varietal: 60% Chardonnay, 35% Pinot Noir, 5% Pinot Meunier
Price: $68
ABV: 12%

The three grape varietals play their own score. The 60% Chardonnay content forms the backbone of its structure while the 35% Pinot Noir from Tours-sur-Marne, Bouzy and Ambonnay give it depth and fruit. The 5% Pinot Meunier perfects these harmonies with aromatic density. A light dosage is added to Delamotte Brut Champagne after thirty-six months’ maturation on the lees.

Without ever assaulting the palate, this is a beautifully powerful Champagne. Freshness and roundness merge to deliver a clean, fruity finish, with well-balanced and elegant length on the palate. Its extremely pure nose, with notes of citrus, white flowers, lemon rind and moss, makes it perfect for all occasions.

Why choose “a Delamotte”? For its freshness and character.

SERVING: How should it be served? Chilled but never cold (around 8°C)
