At some point or another, nearly every live performer has to deal with a wardrobe malfunction—as Charli D’Amelio recently learned.

The TikTok star—who made her Broadway debut in & Juliet this fall—opened up about an “embarrassing” onstage incident that happened during a recent Saturday night performance of the musical.

“I would like to say no but unfortunately that is not the truth,” she began in a video shared to TikTok, answering a commenter’s question about whether she “ever had wardrobe malfunction.”

As D’Amelio explained, she was wearing a pair of white pants during the number “Blow.”

“I’m dancing I’m dancing I’m dancing, I go down, boom—pants split in half,” she recalled, before screaming, “Oh my god!”

“What underwear was I wearing on this particular day?” she continued, answering herself by singing the words: “Bright red underwear!”

“I am mortified, but the show must go on,” D’Amelio admitted.

According to the dancer, she “literally walked backwards, like, ass to the audience” to get offstage, where she turned to the wardrobe team for help.

“I’m like, ‘Um, no big deal or anything but my pants just split,'” she said.

Someone tried to pin her pants back together, but the pin snapped when D’Amelio attempted a squat—so she ended up changing into a different pair entirely. The only problem? All the other dancers were in white and gold pants, while Charli was forced to wear orange.

“Oh my god,” Charli said again, reliving the awkward experience.

“Yeah. But you live, and you get through it. It’s what you do. I don’t know. So embarrassing! And I literally said to myself before the show started, ‘Oh I should probably change but, nah it’s fine, nobody’s gonna see ’em.’ I was wrong,” she concluded.
