The season of cinnamon, caramel apples, and a crisp autumn breeze has arrived, Vancouver. And we can’t think of a better way to get out there and enjoy it all than apple picking at one of these charming farms and orchards in British Columbia. So grab your bags and get ready to hit the road to make some early fall memories.

Taves Family Farm

This family farm is a popular spot for all sorts of U-Pick options. And since it’s now officially apple season, it’s time to treat yourself to their tasty selection of apples and pears. Currently, this includes the Ambrosia, Gala, and soon-to-be Fuji varieties.

There are also Crab Apples, Goji Berries, and Sweet Corn available for purchase at the Farm Store.

Note that the Jonagold Orchard at 270 Gladwin (across from the home farm at 333 Gladwin Road) will not be open this year due to limited crops.

When: Daily, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm
Where: 333 Gladwin Road, Abbotsford
Cost: $18 for an 8 lb bag of apples or $54 for a 26 lb bag

Willow View Farms

Currently, Willow View Farms in Abbotsford has Elstar, Early Jonagold, and Honeycrisp apples available for U-pick, operating from 10 am to 5:30 pm Tuesdays to Sundays. All tree fruits are $1.80 per pound, and they’ll soon have Boskoop and Ambrosia apples to add to the mix.

Note that visitors are required to bring their own bags or boxes for apple picking – and there will be no Fuji apples this year.

When: Tuesday to Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm
Where: 288 McCallum Road, Abbotsford
Cost: $1.80 per lb

Ravenskill Orchards 

With over 1,000 apple trees and 25 different varieties, Ravenskill on Gabriola Island is definitely worth a visit this season! Right now, you’ll find Macintosh, Fameuse, Gravenstein, and Liberty apples, in addition to an array of apple butters, sweet apple caramels, and fresh pressed cider.

When: Friday to Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm
Where: 1240 Coats Drive, Gabriola Island

Davison Orchards

This spot does U-pick a little differently! Davison Orchards offers orchard tours that take you directly to the rows of apple trees. Here, visitors can pick a bag of fresh apples while learning how the fruit grows.

2024 tours run this September from Wednesdays to Sundays from 10 am to 4 pm.

When: Apple tours offered Wednesday to Sunday from 10 am to 4 pm until September 30th
Where: 3111 Davison Road, Vernon
Cost: Tour is $15 per person, $5 to $14 per bag of apples
