Cher provided new insight into her romance with her boyfriend, Alexander “AE” Edwards, while promoting her new memoir during a recent interview.
The 78-year-old “Believe” singer has attended a handful of red carpet events with her 38-year-old music executive boyfriend since the two first met at a fashion show in Paris back in 2022. Though the couple were rumored to have briefly parted ways in 2023, they appeared to be back on track shortly thereafter and later collaborated on Christmas, Cher’s 2023 holiday album.

Cher, who released the first volume of Cher: The Memoir on Nov. 19, was asked about her relationship with Edwards during a recent interview with The Times. “We get along really well, even though we come from two completely different worlds,” the Moonstruck actress said, adding that she and Edwards are able to expose each other to different perspectives on music and culture.
Cher later mentioned Edwards when the British newspaper asked what makes her happy. The “If I Could Turn Back Time” singer’s sister and two children—Chaz Bono, whom she shares with her late ex-husband Sonny Bono, and Elijah Allman, whom she shares with her late ex-husband Gregg Allman—also made the list.
Cher made similar comments nearly two years ago about her then-new romance with Edwards. “On paper, it’s kind of ridiculous,” Cher told Kelly Clarkson during a December 2022 appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show. “But in real life, we get along great. He’s fabulous—and I don’t give men qualities that they don’t deserve. But he’s very kind, he’s very smart, he’s very talented, and he’s really funny. And I think he’s quite handsome.”
Looking ahead, Cher and Edwards are collaborating on a new album following their success with Christmas, which featured the hit “DJ Play a Christmas Song,” according to The Times.
