Chick-fil-A recently decided to make a popular menu hack official—but fans weren’t quite as thrilled as the fast food chain might have expected them to be.

As Snackolator revealed in a post on Instagram on Monday, Sept. 23, Chick-fil-A’s pimento cheese can now be ordered as a side dish for people who enjoy using the cheese sauce for dipping. It will be available to order as a dip in both individual and catering sizes “for a limited time,” a Chick-fil-A employee told the food blogger.

“You made it a thing, so we made it a side,” the chicken sandwiches chain explained in a preview image Snackolator shared on the social media platform. “Dip It, Spread It, Spoon It…No Judging Here!”

The image Chick-fil-A shared to promote its latest menu addition showed a small cup of pimento cheese placed on a tabletop beside an overflowing carton of the chain’s Waffle Potato Chips. Snackolator’s caption for the image also suggested that Chick-fil-A customers dip nuggets in the cheese or spread it over biscuits and crackers.

Some fans seemed excited that the menu hack was finally making an appearance on the official menu.

“I will be buying gallons lmao,” one Instagram user declared while another said “literally everyone 🤤” wanted the cheese as a side.

“Yall are saying who asked for this but it was me!!” another fan shared.

Several people did question who the new menu update was for.

“Gross. Wasn’t even good in the sandwich,” one customer said while another suggested Chick-fil-A “heard a lie” about customers wanting the new side.

“I promise no one asked for this,” one Instagram user wrote.

One person who commented on Snackolator’s post dubbed the menu addition a “hardcore pass” while another described it as “an L.”

“We said Regular dipping cheese cup not this 😂,” one fan laughed as another agreed, writing, “We need the regular cheese sauce that so many have.”
