Click named Blue Jays VP of baseball strategy

TORONTO – James Crick was named vice president of baseball strategy for the Toronto Blue Jays on Monday.
Crick, 45, spent three seasons as general manager of the Houston Astros before joining the club and leading the team to the 2022 World Series.

Crick will work closely with Toronto general manager Ross Atkins, according to a statement from the Blue Jays.
Crick also works with department heads on strategic planning, decision-making and evaluation.
Click works at both professional and amateur levels to identify best practices, develop plans, and execute strategies.
He previously spent 15 years with the Tampa Bay Rays and was named the team’s Vice President of Baseball Operations in 2017.
Crick graduated from Yale University in 2000.
