Club Med is set to expand its global presence with new resort projects in South Africa and Malaysia, alongside renovations at its Punta Cana property.
Club Med has announced plans to expand its global portfolio with new resort developments in South Africa and Malaysia, as well as significant renovations at its Punta Cana resort. The company aims to strengthen its presence across North America, Europe, the Caribbean, Africa, and Asia-Pacific.
In South Africa, Club Med will establish its first resort on the Indian Ocean coast in KwaZulu-Natal. The Club Med South Africa Beach & Safari Resort will be located along the Dolphin Coast, approximately 30 minutes from King Shaka International Airport and 45 minutes from Durban. The resort will feature 411 rooms, including 310 Superior Rooms, 35 Deluxe Rooms, and 66 private suites in the Exclusive Collection section. The development will include four pools, a surf school, and various dining options. The resort is designed with sustainability in mind, targeting Green Globe certification and implementing the “Bye-Bye Plastics” initiative.
In Malaysia, Club Med plans to launch a new resort, although specific details about this project have not been disclosed. The expansion into Malaysia is part of Club Med’s strategy to increase its footprint in the Asia-Pacific region.
Simultaneously, Club Med is undertaking major renovations at its Punta Cana resort in the Dominican Republic. The renovations include updates to social spaces, culinary experiences, and accommodations. The Costa Del Coco Deluxe Rooms will feature private balconies and spa-like bathrooms. The Buena Vista Lounge will offer panoramic views, while the El Mundo Food Club will provide a variety of global cuisines. The renovations also emphasize sustainable practices, including eco-construction and energy-efficient designs.
