Cologne hotels posted double-digit growth in occupancy and revenue in January 2026, driven by major events and trade fairs.

Cologne’s hotel industry recorded substantial year-over-year growth in January 2026, supported by several high-profile events, according to preliminary data from CoStar.

Occupancy reached 57.9%, up 12.6% from the previous year. The average daily rate (ADR) increased 9.4% to EUR104.74, while revenue per available room (RevPAR) rose 23.2% to EUR60.68.

All key performance indicators peaked on Saturday, 31 January, with occupancy at 82.4%, ADR at EUR 187.95, and RevPAR at EUR 154.84. These results coincided with the STICKS & STONES career fair and the WDR Big Band event.

During Imm Cologne 2026, held from 20-23 January, occupancy climbed as high as 75.8% on the event’s second night.

A Dijon concert on Tuesday, 27 January, pushed occupancy to 77.3%, with ADR and RevPAR at EUR101.74 and EUR78.60, respectively.
