Marriott International has reopened the Colony Club in Barbados as part of The Luxury Collection, following a renovation.

Marriott International has announced the reopening of Colony Club, a property located on Barbados’ Platinum Coast, as part of The Luxury Collection. The reopening follows a renovation that included updates to guest rooms, wellness spaces, and dining facilities.

Originally built in the 1930s as a private residence, Colony Club later became the island’s first residential club. The property has been a retreat for over 70 years. The recent renovation led by Marriott International focused on redesigning guest rooms and enhancing wellness and culinary offerings.

The resort now features redesigned rooms with updated furnishings and decor. The property includes lagoon-style pools surrounded by tropical gardens. Dining options at Colony Club include Laguna, the main restaurant, which serves local cuisine, and the Sunset Bar & Deck, offering a casual setting with stunning beach views. The resort also features the Rum Vault, a tasting room with over 150 rums.

The wellness program at Colony Club has been updated to include treatments inspired by local traditions. The spa offers a variety of services, including facials and massages. Guests can participate in activities such as cooking classes and water sports.

Colony Club operates under a European Plan, allowing guests to choose their dining experiences. Reservations are available for stays starting September 1, 2025. The resort is part of Marriott Bonvoy, the company’s travel program.
