Today, Hilton (NYSE:HLT) announced the opening of Conrad Chongqing, its first Conrad Hotels & Resorts in Chongqing, owned by Chongqing Jafa Group. Nestled in the heart of the Nan’an District and flanked by natural attractions steeped in culture and history, the hotel is an urban sanctuary that offers a tranquil respite from the bustling city.

“The debut of Conrad Chongqing holds special significance as Hilton’s 700th hotel in the Greater China region, where we continue to lead the industry as the fastest growing international hotel company and are better positioned than ever to extend our signature hospitality to even more destinations here,” said Alan Watts, president, Asia Pacific, Hilton.

Located in the iconic Jiafa Cross-Border Trade Center, the hotel is a prominent landmark in Chongqing’s Nanping District and was designed by award-winning Cheng Chung Design (CCD) in Hong Kong. The property draws inspiration from Chongqing’s unique mountainous cityscape, seamlessly blending nature and culture in a contemporary luxury setting.

Conrad Chongqing is also perfectly poised to meet business and leisure needs. The property enjoys close proximity to the International Convention and Exhibition Center and the Jiefangbei commercial district, but also the Yangtze River Cableway and scenic Hongyadong area.

“The opening of Conrad Chongqing represents a significant milestone in Conrad Hotels & Resorts’ continued expansion across China,” said Dino Michael, senior vice president and global head, Hilton Luxury Brands. “This hotel not only exemplifies the essence of Conrad Hotels & Resorts by offering a sophisticated blend of contemporary luxury and local culture but also underscores our unwavering commitment to providing exceptional experiences in key destinations worldwide. Guests will discover a truly unique and immersive connection to the vibrant spirit of Chongqing.”

At Conrad Chongqing, guests can immerse themselves in distinctive, bold design, where contemporary art encapsulates the city’s dynamism and natural beauty. The lobby’s 3D digital artwork, titled Journey of Light Years by Three Non-Carbon (a Chinese digital design group from OUTPUT, China’s leading digital content platform) is inspired by cultural symbols like the Liberation Monument and camellia flower, and serves as a “portal” for guests to embark on their own adventure. On the sixth floor, Digital Mountain City employs digital techniques to portray Chongqing’s layered mountain landscapes and the flowing waters of the Yangtze River.
