Hilton has announced the signing of Conrad Meia Praia Algarve, a new beachfront resort in Lagos, Portugal, scheduled to open in spring 2027 under a franchise agreement with a joint venture between PGIM Real Estate, Sonae Sierra, and Iberian Hospitality Solutions.
Hilton has entered into a franchise agreement for the development of Conrad Meia Praia Algarve, a new luxury beachfront resort located above Meia Praia beach near Lagos in Portugal’s Algarve region. The project is being developed by a joint venture between PGIM’s real estate business, Sonae Sierra, and Iberian Hospitality Solutions (IHSP), marking the second collaboration between Hilton and the joint venture.
Scheduled to open in spring 2027, the resort will feature 116 guest rooms and suites, all with sea views, including seven suites with private plunge pools. The property will also include 21 Conrad-branded residences.
Amenities at Conrad Meia Praia Algarve will include two restaurants, a contemporary beach club, a lobby bar, a pool bar, indoor and outdoor pools, a Conrad spa, a fitness center, and event space. The resort will operate under the Conrad Hotels & Resorts brand.
The developer for the project is Wonder Hotel Ventures S.A. The joint venture between Sonae Sierra and IHSP aims to acquire, develop, and manage hospitality assets, with a target gross asset value of approximately €200 million. Its first acquisition was completed in April 2024 with the opening of Cénica Porto Hotel, Curio Collection by Hilton, in Porto.
Hilton’s portfolio in Portugal currently includes 30 operating hotels and 16 in the pipeline. The new resort will join other upcoming Hilton luxury hotel openings in Europe, including Waldorf Astoria Admiralty Arch and Sandblu Santorini, LXR Hotels & Resorts.
