Convene Hospitality Group has appointed Melanie Colton as chief product and technology officer.

Colton will oversee the technology platform, operational systems and data-driven capabilities across Convene Hospitality Group’s global portfolio. Her role includes responsibility for the product and technology organization, which encompasses technology, engineering, data and infrastructure functions.

Her responsibilities include modernizing the enterprise platform, identifying new revenue streams and implementing AI automation in hospitality operations.

Colton joins CHG with more than 25 years of product and technology leadership experience. Most recently, she served as chief technology officer at Axios Media.

At Axios, Colton built the product, engineering and data organizations supporting the company’s editorial, commercial and consumer platforms. She deployed AI across newsroom and business workflows and led technical due diligence related to Axios Media’s $525 million acquisition by Cox Enterprises.

Colton has led unified platform strategies in media and developed enterprise solutions addressing revenue generation and operational cost management.

Colton holds a Master of Science degree from Columbia University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Maryland. She is based at CHG’s headquarters in New York City.
