The Surrey, a Corinthia Hotel, is now open at a prime location on New York City’s Upper East Side. Reuben Brothers, a real estate development and private equity firm, owns the 16-story hotel, while Martin Brudnizki of MBDS has overseen its interior design.

The Surrey features 70 guest rooms, 30 suites, and 14 private residences. Additionally, it is hosting the first New York location of the popular restaurant Casa Tua and features a serene spa by Sisley Paris.

Pradeep Raman, Surrey’s managing director, noted that the hotel aims to be a vibrant cultural hub for its Upper East Side neighborhood. Simon Casson, CEO of Corinthia Hotels, expressed his pride in opening their first North American property at The Surrey. He sees the hotel as representing Corinthia’s warm, familial spirit.

The hotel’s design, curated by the London and New York-based design team MBDS, reflects a blend of past influences with contemporary sophistication. The bridges of Central Park inspire the suites, which offer elegantly designed living spaces, plush beds, and luxurious bathrooms. Complimentary butler service is also available to guests staying in these suites.

Casa Tua, a renowned restaurant group founded by Miky and Leticia Herrera-Grendene, is debuting its first New York location at The Surrey. The restaurant features a design that blends modern luxury with influences from Florence, Italy and offers a menu focused on Italian and Mediterranean cuisine.

The Surrey Spa, featuring Sisley Paris, brings a new wellness destination to the Upper East Side. The spa offers treatments focused on rejuvenation, anti-aging, and relaxation using Sisley’s luxury French lifestyle brand products. It has two treatment rooms, a steam room, a sauna, a salt relaxation room, and a sensory shower.

The hotel also displays an art collection curated by the expert team at Paris-based VISTO Gallery, reflecting the city’s vibrant energy. The collection fills the hotel’s walls and includes works by native New Yorkers, international New York-based artists, and artists inspired by the city’s energy.

The Surrey is the company’s first property in North America, joining other establishments in London, Lisbon, and Budapest. The company has plans to develop additional landmark properties in Rome, Brussels, Bucharest, Doha, and Riyadh.
