IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the signing of a sea-view hotel in Marina di Ragusa, Sicily, to its Vignette Collection. This is the brands’s second property in Italy.
IHG Hotels & Resorts, in partnership with Blu Lava Resorts (Owner) and Panoram Hotels (Management Company), has announced the launch of the Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa, Vignette Collection property in Marina di Ragusa, Sicily. This development, set to open in the second half of 2025, is the second Vignette Collection property in Italy, following the Hotel Alexandra, Vignette Collection, which is slated to open in 2026.
The Vignette Collection is the newest addition to IHG’s luxury and lifestyle portfolio. Within three years of its launch, the brand has already reached the halfway point in its initial goal of securing 100 open and pipeline hotels in the first decade. There are already 17 such properties in Europe, including recent signings in France, Turkey, Spain, the UK, and Hungary.
The Costa Irminia Retreat & Spa, Vignette Collection in Sicily, is situated near several UNESCO World Heritage sites in the Val di Noto region, including Ragusa, Modica, and Noto, and a modern marina with over 800 berths. The property will feature a private beach club with direct access to the Mediterranean Sea, two separate swimming pools, a stylish bar, and an all-day dining restaurant.
Willemijn Geels, Vice President, Development, Europe, IHG Hotels & Resorts, expressed enthusiasm for the new collaboration with Blu Lava Resorts and looks forward to creating a unique destination in one of the world’s most iconic locations.
Nadia Perna, Owner of Blu Lava Resorts, expressed confidence that the Vignette Collection brand would elevate the existing hotel offer in Sicily and provide an unforgettable experience that captures the essence of Italy.
As of December 31, 2024, IHG Hotels & Resorts has 30 open hotels in Italy, spanning seven brands, with an additional 12 properties in the pipeline.
