For the past few years, my partner and I have made it a point to host our families at our house for Thanksgiving, Christmas and the occasional gingerbread house decorating competition. While my focus is primarily on the menu and catering to the palates of everyone on the guest list, my partner curates the decor and interior design to provide a comfortable and cozy environment ripe for merrymaking, laughter and holly jolly festivities. It’s a delicate dance that takes countless hours to master, and we’ve made it our mission to one-up ourselves every year. This year, though, we’re taking some much-needed time off.

Not that we don’t want to host our families—and sure, we’ll probably have one or two intimate gatherings—but we’re avoiding the larger holidays and taking some time to focus on settling into our new home before inviting everyone else in. Of course, if we were planning on hosting this year, we’d probably take a few shortcuts. And we aren’t the only ones looking for a little extra support this year. If you’re like us, you’re probably looking for a quick and easy meal you can set and forget—and as always, Costco has us covered.

Costco superfan @costcobuys shared a look at the ready-to-cook Turkey Dinner located in Costco’s deli ready-to-go meal section, and it’s the perfect solution if you’re hosting a smaller gathering or just simply don’t have the time. Included in the meal, shoppers will receive green beans, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce, stuffing gravy and, of course, a half, boneless pre-seasoned turkey breast. Each tray retails for $3.99 per pound and is meant to serve 7 to 8 people. The median price of the trays seems to be about $40, which would work out to about $5 per person, provided you’re able to carve out eight equal portions.
Although it’s recommended for eight, a few shoppers mentioned being able to clear the entire tray in “two sittings” on their own. Additionally, a few shoppers took issue with the price, saying that they felt the price per pound was excessive. Considering the convenience factor and the fact that we could just add on a few sides to stretch this ready-to-go meal even further, however, we’ll definitely be adding this easy dinner option to our cart on our next trip to Costco. Not that we’re planning on hosting this year or anything. You know, just in case.
