Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany Aldean are mourning the death of political activist Charlie Kirk.
The country music couple took to social media just hours after the right-wing influencer was shot and killed while speaking at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, Sept. 10. He was 31.

Jason and Brittany Aldean Mourn ‘Friend’ Charlie Kirk After Shooting Death
Brittany, 37, penned a lengthy message to Instagram on Wednesday evening, sharing a photo of her and Jason, 48, posing next to Kirk. She also included another snap of just her and Kirk, as well as an image of her visiting his radio station.
“This is a heartbreak so many of us will never get over,” Brittany began the emotional post. “Charlie was a father, husband, son, friend and so much more. One of the most intelligent people we’ve ever met, fighting for everything right in this world. He put everything on the line to be a voice for those who weren’t able.”
She continued: “I admired him. His courage, his intelligence, his faith…. there will truly never be another like him. Charlie you will forever be missed. Trying to find peace in the fact that he’s in heaven shining down on us all, because man he loved Jesus and there’s no doubt that’s what he’s doing❤️💔.”
“Accepted into the arms of Jesus as a good & faithful servant🙏🏼,” Brittany concluded.
Jason also shared a photo to his own socials, re-posting a black-and-white image of Kirk to his Instagram Stories.
More Celebrities Pay Tribute to the Late Political Influencer
Along with the Aldean’s, several other celebrities also spoke out on social media to memorialize Kirk.
Stars like late-night host Jimmy Kimmel, Little House on the Prairie alum Melissa Gilbert, actress Candace Cameron Bure are among those who have issued public statements to express their sadness over the tragic event.
Actor Mel Gibson also made a statement on X (formerly Twitter) about Kirk, calling his death “evil” and “a cowardly attack on America’s very soul.”
“Faith, family, freedom, the right to speak truth trampled by violence,” the Oscar-winner continued. “My blood boils. Justice must be relentless and unforgiving.”

A number of political figures, including Donald Trump, Kamala Harris, Bernie Sanders, Robert F. Kennedy Jr. and many more, have also spoken out to condemn the attack against Kirk.
Kirk is survived by his wife Erika and their two children.
