IHG Hotels & Resorts has announced a new addition to its portfolio in Vietnam, Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre. The hotel, slated to open later this year, will operate under a management agreement with Regis Bay Vietnam Investment Joint-Stock Company.
The new property, previously Bay Capital Danang Hotel, will add 283 rooms to IHG’s portfolio in Vietnam. The hotel is expected to cater to the increasing demand for meeting and event spaces in the city. Guests will have the option to choose rooms and suites with views of the Danang landscape or Han River.
The Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre will join other IHG properties in the region, including Crowne Plaza Phu Quoc Starbay and Crowne Plaza Vinh Yen City Centre. The brand is known for providing a balanced travel experience, offering spaces that facilitate work and leisure.
Chris Anklin, Senior Director of Development for South East Asia & Korea at IHG Hotels & Resorts, noted that the new hotel reinforces the company’s robust presence in Central Vietnam, which includes more than 1,000 rooms across three hotels. IHG plans to double its portfolio size, from 16 to over 40 hotels, in the coming years.
Regis Bay Vietnam Investment Joint-Stock Company’s Board Chairman, Rui Xiang Chin, expressed confidence in the new hotel’s success due to its central location and world-class facilities. He believes that IHG’s strong in-market experience and global systems will drive performance and returns on the property.
Located in the commercial hub of Central Vietnam, Danang is poised to become a market leader for business travel in the Asia-Pacific region, a market expected to be worth about USD$800 billion by 2027.
The Crowne Plaza Danang City Centre is 15 minutes from Da Nang International Airport in the Hai Chau district. It is close to government and commercial offices, Han bridge, Dragon bridge, and the Da Nang Cathedral. The hotel is also within 100 kilometres of UNESCO Heritage Sites at Hoi An, Hue, and My Son.
The property will offer facilities including an all-day dining restaurant, lobby lounge and bar, over 500 square meters of meeting spaces, a swimming pool, spa, and fitness center. This expansion in Vietnam is part of IHG’s broader growth strategy across Asia Pacific, which includes more than 90 Crowne Plaza hotels.
