Fans of Days of our Lives have been anticipating the return of actor Peter Reckle to the Peacock streaming soap opera for some time. With the fan favorite set to return, could it be for the last time?

Days of Our Lives released a brand-new trailer for the upcoming week on their official YouTube channel.

The promo opens with Alex Kiriakis (Robert Scott Wilson) grabbing a printed manuscript titled “One Stormy Night” by his girlfriend Stephanie Johnson (Abigail Klein). The manuscript title was a nod to a previous primetime special for Days of Our Lives also titled One Stormy Night.

Johnny Dimera (Carson Boatman) tells his wife Chanell (Raven Bowens) that he’s “Not sure if I can go through with the adoption.” With Tate (Leo Howard) and Sophia (Rachel Boyd) having already signed preliminary adoption papers, what is holding Johnny back? Later in the promo, Johnny opens a door to Tate, who immediately punches Johnny.

Johnny is also seen talking to his grandmother Susan (Stacy Haiduk), telling her that his father E.J. (Dan Feuerriegel) is dead to him, while a flashback reveals that Johnny also pulled a gun on his father, was Johnny the culprit who shot his dad?

Meanwhile Shawn Brady (Brandon Beemer) informs his situationship Jada Hunter (Elia Cantu) that he received a phone call and that his dad “is dying.” Kayla Johnson (Mary Beth Evans) is seen talking to Dr. Jeffrey Russell (Michael Dietz) pleading with him to give her the drug that he is working on as it could save her brother’s life. Russell responded, “I wish I could help your brother but my hands are tied.” So taking matters into his own hands Shawn tells Steve (Stephen Nichols),  “Dr. Russell’s not going to change his mind, his drug is my dad’s only shot and we need to steal it.”

Fans can rest assured that while things may be looking grim for Bo Brady now, he and his on-screen wife Hope Brady (Kristian Alfonso) are set to return in the coming weeks.

Days of our Lives streams weekdays on Peacock.
