Takis, the fan-favorite rolled corn chip famously known for its spicy lime flavor, is launching a limited-edition sweet variety that’s left quite an impression on those who have tried it.

Earlier this week, several snackers took to social media to bring attention to the new Takis, which have since been dubbed a “diabolical” creation over its dramatically different flavor profile.

Then on Wednesday, Oct. 23, the chip brand finally confirmed the nationwide release of its new non-spicy snack, the limited-edition Takis® Churro Charge.

According to a statement shared with Parade, instead of the red-hot citrusy coating that dusts the original Takis, the new version features a cinnamon sugar rolled tortilla chip said to “[electrify] taste buds with sweet and delectable flavor that will leave you grabbing for more.”

Those who have been lucky enough to get their hands on the magenta-colored bag seem to agree with the brand’s description, with one TikToker admitting that she only picked up the snack because her family loves them. But after trying them herself, she thinks the bag will “be gone before my kids can even see them.”

Her video, which has gone viral in the five days since it’s been posted, garnered several comments, with one suggesting that “takis wit no spice is diabolical.” The video’s creator, however, disagreed: “They were so good!! You would be surprised!!”

Another TikToker known for their 10-second reviews was also pleasantly surprised by the new snack, noting that it doesn’t imitate a churro perfectly, but that it satisfies both savory and sweet cravings. “[It tasted like] the taki corn chip with cinnamon sugar,” they noted.

So far, Takis Churro Charge has been spotted at Walmart, but it should be available at other retailers that sell the brand nationwide in the coming weeks, if not already. The limited-time offering will be stocked through Feb. 1, 2025, or presumably, as long as supplies last.

The sweet new dessert-inspired flavor follows another heat-free and divisive flavor of the fan-favorite corn chip, Buckin’ Ranch, which debuted this past spring.
