Sony recently released its 2024 BRAVIA TV lineup along with a new line of BRAVIA Theatre home audio products. With the seamless integration of picture and sound, the BRAVIA brand covers both elements of home cinema. Let’s take a closer look at the 2024 TVs, sound bars, and surround sound system, and explore how they can help you bring the cinema experience home.

2024 BRAVIA TV lineup

Sony released four BRAVIA TV models ranging from the flagship BRAVIA 9 Mini-LED to the entry-level BRAVIA 3 direct LED set. Here’s a breakdown of each model.

Sony BRAVIA 9 TV

The BRAVIA 9 comes in 65”, 75”, 85” varieties. It’s Sony’s brightest 4K TV ever. Thousands of Mini-LED’s are controlled by XR Backlight Master Drive. This is a Sony-developed dimming algorithm that controls each LED independently. The BRAVIA 9 is Sony’s flagship TV for 2024. It’s for users who want a true home theatre experience. Simply put, with expanded contrast and extreme brightness, the BRAVIA 9 provides the best image quality possible for the most authentic cinematic experience.

Sony BRAVIA 8 TV

The BRAVIA 8 is Sony’s new OLED TV. This premium model comes in 55”, 65” and 77” varieties. It features a sleek design with over 8 million self-lit pixels. If you want pure black with high brightness, this TV might be for you. The pure OLED black and vibrant colours provide an uncanny realism in everything you watch. The XR processor boosts colour, contrast, and clarity in real-time to enhance every scene.

Sony BRAVIA 7 TV

The BRAVIA 7 is an affordable alternative to the flagship BRAVIA 9. It also uses a QLED panel with a Mini LED backlight and local dimming. While it doesn’t get as bright as the BRAVIA 9, it still produces a high-end image with accurate real-world colours. It comes in four sizes, 55”, 65”, 75” and 85”.

Sony BRAVIA 3 TV

The BRAVIA 3 is Sony’s new entry level 4K TV geared for casual TV viewing, streaming, and gaming. It uses a standard direct-lit LED panel and is available in 6 sizes: 43”, 50″, 55”, 65”, 75”, and 85”. It supports Dolby Vision, Dolby Atmos, and the studio-calibrated picture modes. Easy-to-use Google TV™ smart features also make accessing your favourite streaming apps a breeze.

BRAVIA Theatre is coming to your living room

Sony also introduced a line of home theatre audio products under the BRAVIA Theatre name. These audio products seamlessly integrate with the new range of BRAVIA TVs for the ultimate home theatre experience.

Theatre Bar 9

The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 9 is Sony’s flagship sound bar with 13 speakers and 360 Spatial Sound Mapping. The sound is auto calibrated to your room’s characteristics with Sound Field Optimization. The Bar 9 has dedicated front, centre, and up-firing speakers. Side-firing speakers and beam tweeters provide directional sound that bounces off walls. Quad woofers provide a deep, low-end, punchy bass. Equally important, users can also connect an optional wireless sub-woofer and rear speakers to the Bar 9.

Theatre Bar 8

The BRAVIA Theatre Bar 8 is Sony’s mid range sound bar. Featuring the same design as the Bar 9, it comes with 11 speakers with smaller dimensions. The Bar 8 has similar features to the Bar 9, including Sony 360 Reality Audio, Dolby Atmos, and IMAX Enhanced. It supports the latest video formats including 4K, HDR, 8K HDR, and Dolby Vision. Similar to the Bar 9, it can also connect with an optional wireless sub-woofer and rear speakers.

BRAVIA Theatre Quad

The BRAVIA Theatre Quad is Sony’s flagship home theatre surround sound system. It consists of a set of four cylindrical wireless speakers for a total of 16 speakers. It connects to a TV through a small connection box and the four wireless speakers can be placed virtually anywhere freestanding or wall mounted. The four speakers are calibrated with Sony’s Sound Field Optimization. The Quad works with Sony’s Acoustic Center Sync to use the TV’s speaker as a centre channel. In addition, the quad also connect with an optional wireless sub-woofer.

Pairing together BRAVIA TV and Theatre

For the ultimate cinema experience, you can combine a 2024 BRAVIA TV with BRAVIA Theatre home audio. Sony designed BRAVIA products to work together with synchronized controls. Therefore, a single remote controls both the TV and the soundbar. Acoustic Center Sync pairs the TV’s speaker with the soundbar. This reinforces the centre channel for fuller dialogue. Another innovative feature is Voice Zoom 3. Human dialogue is recognized through AI machine learning. You can then amplify or reduce the volume of human dialogue. This is particularly useful for sport fans. With Voice Zoom 3, you can increase the commentator’s voice or decrease it to listen to the ambient noise of the crowd.

Set up the ultimate home theatre experience with Sony BRAVIA
