In the age of online dating, it’s romantic to think back on a time where couples first met when out of town, or out with their friends.PeopleImages/iStockPhoto / Getty Images

“How did you meet?”

Every couple is used to this question. Love stories about finding that unexpected, co-incidental chemistry – more adorably called a “meet-cute” – have become a cultural obsession. But the story may not seem as magical in the age of algorithmic dating, when swiping a six-inch photo is the default for finding a partner.

It’s romantic to think about a time when couples met during a night on the town, or at work or through friends. This might explain why even younger generations are looking to let go of the level of control dating apps afford, and seek their rom-com moment in person. That’s why we want to celebrate in-person meet cutes, and show that finding your soul mate can still happen during a chance encounter.

Do you have a story about finding love (offline)? Whether it is a new spark or happened decades ago, The Globe wants to know about the moment you met the person you’re with.
