It’s time to take your sweet tooth on a delightful adventure to Sunderland, Ontario, because the 28th annual Maple Syrup Festival is coming the first weekend of April.
The two-day spectacular will be a celebration of fun, family, and most importantly, that Canadian gold we all love so much — maple syrup!
Aiding in the festivities throughout the town will be plenty of fun-filled activities, a stage bursting with live music, and plenty of sweet eats to get your maple fix.
What to expect
All weekend long, you can head down to the Arena to jump into an Air Bounce Adventure, witness a forging demonstration from Fallen Willow Forge, or take part in a pony ride at the petting zoo by Tiger Paw Exotics.
Taking over Main St., River St., and Church St. will be the Outdoor Vendors Market, which features over 150 vendors selling everything from maple treats to crafts.
But you have to carve out time to get in on the marquee events, including the Bathtub Races by Brock Rugby and the annual Lawn Tractor Pull by 4-H Ontario.

What’s maple syrup without the idyllic vessel to eat it with? Luckily, the Sunderland Legion will have plenty of indoor and outdoor space for an all-day pancake break until 2:30 p.m. for just $10 and $5 for children under 10.
You can also chow down on a peameal on a bun sandwich from the Sunderland Lions by Home Hardware or grab some classic BBQ burgers and hot dogs from the Sunderland Firefighters.
And while you’re eating, check out one of the stage acts, which will feature Mike Chianelli, Rough Patch Kids, and multiple performances from Lexy the Rap Dad.
