Dusit Hotels and Resorts, a part of Dusit International, has announced opening two new properties: Dusit Princess Chiang Mai in Thailand and dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla in India.
The Dusit Princess Chiang Mai, centrally located on Chang Klan Road, has reopened following a three-year refurbishment. The hotel, situated close to popular landmarks like Wat Chedi Luang and the Night Bazaar, offers updated guestrooms and facilities. The redesigns are inspired by local traditions and cater to the needs of modern travelers. Facilities include state-of-the-art meeting spaces, a serene pool area, a gym, and a lobby that reflects the elegance of Lanna culture.
Dining experiences at the hotel have also been enhanced. Jasmine Restaurant offers a culinary journey through Chinese and Cantonese cuisine, while Casa Verde serves a mix of international, Asian, and Mexican-inspired delights. Dusit Princess Chiang Mai is participating in Thailand’s “Get Ready for Northern Tourism” campaign, which offers discounts for domestic travelers to support local tourism post-recent flooding.
Meanwhile, dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla marks Dusit Hotels and Resorts’ re-entry into India. Nestled in the Himalayas, the upscale retreat offers 80 elegantly designed guestrooms with views of the surrounding valleys and mountains. Facilities include the region’s largest temperature-controlled swimming pool, the Namm Spa, and the only outdoor amphitheater. Dining options include Dusit Gourmet for all-day international dining and SOI, which specializes in Thai and Pan-Asian cuisine.
The location offers access to local attractions such as Mahasu Peak and the UNESCO-listed Shimla-Kalka Toy Train. Shimla Airport is 80 minutes away, while Chandigarh Airport is reachable in four-and-a-half hours. The hotel is also only 18 kilometers from Kalka Railway Station.
“We are excited to expand into India with dusitD2 Fagu, Shimla, our first hotel in this diverse country,” said Gilles Cretallaz, Chief Operating Officer, Dusit International. “India is an important market for Dusit, and we look forward to its development potential. We are also proud to unveil the new look of Dusit Princess Chiang Mai. These openings reflect our commitment to delivering localized experiences celebrating each destination’s culture.”
