Four Seasons Hotel Doha has appointed Edgar Hurtado as its new Culinary Director. He will be in charge of the hotel’s 11 dining outlets, including Nobu, Curiosa by Jean-Georges, and the recently renovated Elements Restaurant. Other outlets under his purview include Makani, Seasons Tea Lounge, and Le Deli Robuchon.

Hurtado expressed his enthusiasm for his new role, highlighting the opportunity to bring his creativity and passion for food to these outlets. He aims to inject fresh energy and ideas into each restaurant while maintaining the unique qualities that make them stand out.

Hurtado looks forward to collaborating with the hotel’s chefs to explore new techniques, refine menus, and curate memorable dining experiences for guests. He also plans to introduce new events and tailored experiences that celebrate the diverse range of flavors the hotel’s outlets offer.

With over 20 years of international culinary experience, Hurtado’s career began in Lima, Peru, where he graduated from Le Cordon Bleu Institute at 18. He has since worked at various prestigious establishments worldwide, such as Grand Hotel in the USA, Ocean Reef Resorts in Florida, USA, and Pearl Harbor Luxor Hotels in Florida, USA. He has also contributed to Rosa Nautica in Peru, El Buey in Chile, and Carnival Cruises.

In 2013, Hurtado became the culinary team leader at The Act Restaurant in Shangri-La Hotel, Dubai. During his time there, he organized culinary events with the Trade Office of Peru, introducing Peruvian cuisine to the UAE. Following his time in Dubai, Hurtado moved to Germany, where he showcased Peruvian flavors at the Sheraton Hotel in Frankfurt.

In 2019, Hurtado relocated to Qatar to serve as the executive chef at Toro Toro. He worked closely with celebrity Chef Richard Sandoval to elevate the restaurant’s South American cuisine.

In 2022, Hurtado joined Four Seasons Hotel Doha as Executive Chef for the Latin American restaurant Curiosa by Jean Georges. Under his leadership, Curiosa has become a popular dining destination in Doha.

Hurtado’s favorite dish to cook is ceviche, a Peruvian specialty. He is committed to providing exceptional dining experiences by customizing menus and interacting with guests. His love for his work is evident in his dishes, as he aims to create meaningful moments through food and foster connections with people.
