LISTEN TO THE PLUGGED IN SHOW, EPISODE 282
We’ve been on quite the trek, the last several weeks. Way back in mid-March, Plugged In compiled a list of 64 faith-based movies (based on Box Office Mojo), seeded them into a March Madness-style bracket and asked you, the Plugged In audience, to pick your favorites.
Well, you probably know which one was ultimately selected as the best of the best. The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe barely broke a sweat in its early-round competitions. And while Mel Gibson’s The Passion of the Christ offered the strongest challenge yet, it still wasn’t enough to topple this Narnian juggernaut.
On this episode, we talk about The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe, of course. But we also discuss the whole competition—and offer what I consider to be some surprising and heartening takeaways from the whole experience. We’ll talk with Kennedy Unthank, Jonathan McKee and Bret Eckelberry all about it.
We won’t be doing another Christian movie bracket for another several years, I’d imagine. But if and when we do, might Hallmark’s soon-to-be-released Journey to You be in it? We’ll talk to our reviewer Kennedy about Hallmark’s dip into faith-based filmmaking and ask him if Journey to You is, y’know, good.
But you know what is always good? Hearing from you! That’s right, we’d love to hear your thoughts on our just-completed Christian Movie Madness competition. Do you feel the right movie landed on top? What would you have chosen instead? Are you a fan of Hallmark movies?

And be sure to join us next week, when Bret takes the hosting chair and asks an important question: What makes a good family movie, anyway? Be sure to join us then.
