IHG Hotels & Resorts introduces its midscale conversion brand, Garner Hotels, to the UK with its first hotel in Preston Samlesbury, marking significant growth since its launch in 2023.
IHG Hotels & Resorts (IHG) has announced the UK debut of its midscale conversion brand, Garner Hotels. Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury is the first in the UK, marking a significant milestone in the brand’s expansion since its inception in 2023.
The new Preston Samlesbury hotel, managed by KRO Hospitality and located in Northern England, joins an expanding portfolio of Garner Hotels in Europe. This development comes after IHG and NOVUM Hospitality’s agreement to bring over 50 Garner Hotels to Germany.
Each Garner hotel is unique, designed to deliver a relaxed and comfortable experience for guests who appreciate authenticity over luxury. The brand prioritizes comfort and convenience, with free Wi-Fi, high-quality coffee, and snacks at the Garner Shop.
Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury, with its 80 stylish guestrooms spread across three floors, embodies the brand’s ethos of “Made with Character.” The hotel’s reception area features a signature Garner feature wall, showcasing Sketches of Humanity, a unique touch that reflects the brand’s commitment to diversity and community.
Joanna Kurowska, VP and Managing Director of IHG Hotels & Resorts in the UK & Ireland, expressed her enthusiasm for the brand’s UK debut. She highlighted the company’s partnership with owners committed to investing in high-quality hotels supporting local communities. Neelesh Chaturvedi, General Manager of Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury, emphasized the hotel’s commitment to providing affordable-quality stays.
The hotel offers a range of amenities, including dining options like the Village Brasserie and the Lounge Bar, conference and event spaces for business travelers, and a well-equipped Fitness Suite. The hotel is located near the M6’s junction 31 and offers easy access to key locations such as Preston, Manchester, Liverpool, the Lake District, and Blackpool.
Garner Hotel Preston Samlesbury joins IHG’s global portfolio of more than 117 Garner hotels operating or in the pipeline since the brand’s launch in 2023. IHG has also announced the first signings in Turkey and Italy.
