Fans simply cannot stop laughing at the “hysterical” parenting moment that Jenna Bush Hager recently shared while chatting with her Today with Hoda and Jenna co-host Hoda Kotb.

In a video clip that the show shared on Instagram on Friday, Oct. 11, the mother of three revealed the moment that prompted her to describe her oldest daughter’s age in a new way. The former first daughter began the discussion by asking Kotb, 60, if she was familiar with “the ick,” a popular term used to describe the moment in a romantic relationship when one partner notices something unappealing about the other.

Bush Hager, 42, and her husband, Henry Hager, were watching “that show we love” when their 11-year-old daughter, Mila, came into the room. The show they were discussing appeared to be Netflix’s Nobody Wants This, a series starring Kristen Bell and Adam Brody that has an episode titled “The Ick” in its first season.

“We’d paused it when Mila came in, ‘cause you know, NSFW,” Bush Hager explained, referring to the term that means “not safe for work.”

“And Mila walks in and goes, ‘Ooh, ‘The Ick.’ Slay.’ And walked out,” Bush Hager said. As she described the incident, she recalled that her husband’s reaction was to ask, “What just happened?”

Mila “knows that ‘the ick’ is something the kids talk about,” Bush Hager added. “And we were watching a show called ‘The Ick.’” She then repeated her daughter’s reaction, prompting Kotb to clarify the pre-teen’s age.

“Eleven, going on too old,” Bush Hager responded.

The post’s comment section was full of laughing emojis as fans chuckled over the parenting moment, which many found relatable.

“L O freaking L 😂😂😂,” one fan wrote as another commented, “I’m dead 😂😂 that’s hysterical.”

“‘11 and going on too old’ perfect description!!!😂😂,” one person declared.

“Omg this is my life with my 12 yo daughter 😩😩😩,” a fan shared.

Another fan echoed, “Omg Mila and my 9 year old daughter with the slay 🔥😂.”

While one fan with an 11-year-old daughter noted that they “hear the word ‘slay’ 100 times a day,” another said they had a similar experience with their young teen while watching the same show.

“My 13 yr old daughter did the same thing! when I paused it-says the ick in the right hand corner. She read it and then said it,” they wrote.
