Tennis star Carlos Alcaraz stole the spotlight after unveiling a jaw-dropping transformation at the U.S. Open.

On Monday, the Spanish heartthrob kicked off his match in the tournament by debuting a dramatic hairstyle.

Hoping to secure his second U.S. Open title, the 22-year-old faced off against American Reilly Opelka in a highly anticipated matchup.

However, instead of delivering a stunning performance that showcased his power moves on the court, he arrived at New York City’s USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center sporting a sharp buzz cut, a striking departure from his signature thick hair.

Moreover, the US Open Tennis account compared him to retired football superstar David Beckham, who is known for his signature shaved head during the early 2000s.

The post was flooded with fans who were shocked by the five-time Grand Slam champion’s unexpected hair change.

“Lmao took me a second to realize,” one wrote.

A second user echoed, saying, “Legit didn’t even recognize him.”

The same goes for another who asked, “That’s Alcaraz?????”

Others, however, gave the new look a thumbs up, saying it perfectly suits the tennis star’s personality.

“bro just gained 10x more aura,” a follower said.

“He looks so hot,” a delighted supporter noted.

One fan even mentioned his similarities to the Jonas Brothers, but in a different version, “Why he look like one of the Jonas Brothers but bald?”

Interestingly, there were some who mentioned his rumored girlfriend, Emma Raducanu.

“Does Raducanu know about this?” one playfully asked.

Another joked and said, “What happened? Emma dumped him?”

Amid the fans who were surprised by his dramatic transformation, Alcaraz revealed the reason behind the sudden change.

During his interaction with PGA superstar Rory McIlroy, he asked, “Why this?” to which he responded, saying, “Just got a haircut that I struggled with. I mean, I had to start fresh.”

The Northern Irish professional golfer appeared pleased with his decision and replied, “Yeah, good. I like it,” adding, “It’s good. It’s a good look.”

Unfortunately, the reaction was not the same from fellow tennis player Frances Tiafoe.

When asked about Alcaraz, he didn’t hold back but instead delivered his genuine reaction, noting how bad the hairstyle was.

“It’s horrible. It’s definitely terrible… that’s my guy though,” he said during the press conference.
